Week 3: Football: Nixon 30, C.C. Winn 28

The Mustangs earned their first win of the season, and head coach Tommy Ramirez's first win at the helm of Nixon. Ramirez can thank Jaime Cardona, who, with the Mustangs trailing 28-27, drilled a 44-yard field goal with 20 seconds remaining to earn the victory for Nixon. Nixon improved to 1-2 overall, 1-1 in District 29-5A. Winn fell to 0-3, 0-2. The Mustangs trailed 21-7 before staging a memorable rally for the clutch victory.
